TOGAF® is the de facto global standard for Enterprise Architecture. The Open Group Architecture Forum, comprised of more than 400 enterprises, develops and maintains the TOGAF standard and publishes successive versions at regular intervals. The TOGAF framework enables organizations to effectively address critical business needs by: ensuring that everyone speaks the same language; avoiding lock-in to proprietary solutions by standardizing on open methods for enterprise architecture; saving time and money, utilizing resources more effectively; and achieving demonstrable ROI.
The Open Group - formed in 1996 through the merger of X/Open and the Open Software Foundation - is an international vendor- and technology-neutral consortium upon which organizations rely to lead the development of IT standards and certifications, and to provide them with access to key industry peers, suppliers and best practices. The Open Group provides guidance and an open environment in order to ensure interoperability and vendor neutrality. The Open Group offers certifications for IT professionals. In addition to the TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) certification which covers tools, services and people certification, The Open Group also administers the Open Group Certified Architect (Open CA) program and the Open Group Certified IT Specialist (Open CITS) certification program; the latter are skills and experience based certification programs.
