APQC's Process Classification Framework℠ (PCF), at its simplest level, is a list that organizations use to define work processes comprehensively and without redundancies. Beyond being just a list, the PCF serves as a tool  to support benchmarking, manage content, and perform other important performance management activities.
APQC (American Productivity & Quality Center) based in Houston, Texas with over twelve million dollar annual revenues is a member-based nonprofit business and one of the world’s leading proponents of business benchmarking, best practices, and knowledge management research. According to APQC's website: "We follow our mission to help organizations around the world improve productivity and quality by discovering effective methods of improvement, broadly disseminating findings, and connecting individuals with one another and with the knowledge they need to improve."
APQC offers many ancillary products and services in support of the PCF: benchmarking information, knowledge management, research and advisory services.
